What are the signs of a bad teacher

Kinds of bad teachers

• The teacher that attributes the success of their students all to themselves
• The teacher that expects their students to be all-consumed with their class with no balance for a normal life
• The teacher that doesn't know what they're doing. Gives wrong instruction
• The teacher that's relucant to share their knowledge
• The teacher that shows unprofessional behaviors (e.g. drunk in class)
• The teacher that wastes a lot of class time (e.g. spends the lesson complaining non-stop)
• The teacher that wants students to be dependent on them for as long as possible, which can come at the expense of students' education. It's better if the teacher has an influx of new students so there's a continued source of revenue for them and if the teacher is at such a high level that students can learn from them for a long time. No matter what, there should still come a point where the student doesn't need the teacher and the sooner that point comes, the better that teacher is
• The teacher that doesn't care if students achieve their goals
• The teacher that doesn't care if students leave their class having learnt nothing from it, which leads to a trend where they're not learning much over time
• The teacher that doesn't pay attention to their students. It's important to provide personalized feedback so students know what they're doing well or not so well
• The teacher that doesn't follow a well-designed syllabus OR that doesn't personalize their classes based on what students need help with. Each class have an objective
• The teacher that expects students of their class to act as teachers in place of them
• The teacher that holds a class instead of teaching one
• The teacher that blames their shortcomings on their students
• The teacher that overwhelms their students with too much information in a short period of time
• The teacher that can't explain what they're doing. Just shows students what they're doing

• They can have lots of positive reviews, often from students that did a couple of lessons with them or that didn't want to affect their livelihood. The amount of lessons a student did is a better indicator of how satisfied they're
• They can make lots of misleading claims in their profile

What all bad teachers have in common

=> Students don't accomplish their aims with their help

=> Students learn little from them

=> Students don't continue taking lessons with them when there's still a need for lessons. In that case, students look for an alternative teacher that can better help them

=> Students don't trust them to meet their expectations

=> Teacher receives poor student feedback

=> Teacher tarnishes their relationships with their students
